Challenge: Most Telecom Operators have a heterogeneous equipment environment in their network. Telco teams as well as their managed services partners often find it difficult to deal with faulty equipment. While most equipment comes with warranties and limited-time support from the respective OEM, however there is no reliable support for out-of-warranty or end-of-life products. Consequently, this lack of multi-vendor repairs capability at one place makes Telecom companies spend considerable costs & efforts in opening multiple repairs channels. Then there is a perennial challenge of timely pick-up of faulty equipment from the field and proper handling of the same to prevent any further damage to the faulty equipment during reverse logistics. Non-specialized or generic logistics vendors cannot often handle the intricacies of properly handling faulty equipment picked from the field, thereby increasing risk of further damage. Some organizations do not have local repairs & support set-ups with the need of sending all faulty equipment to their overseas locations.
